All the Sky Q boxes are compatible with Voice Control. Your Sky Q box should be connected to the internet and the remote should be paired to your Sky Q box to use the Voice Control feature.
Single remote can be paired at a time, so please make sure that you have disconnected old remotes before pairing with a new one. To disconnect the old remote, hold 7 and 9 on your remote until the light flashes 4 times.
How to pair your remote:
- Hold 1 and 3 keys together.
- Select ‘Continue’ and enter your TV brand.
Now, try pressing the volume buttons on your Sky Q remote and see if it works. If it does not, select another option until you find the right settings.
If it is still not working, Hold 7 and 9 until the light on the remote flashes 4 times (this is to factory reset your remote). Now, try the steps again.
Once you are able to change the volume of the TV using your Sky Q remote, finish the pairing process:
- If you have a speaker system or a Sky Sound box please select ‘Yes’ and then follow the instructions.
- If you do not have a speaker system then select ‘No’ and ‘Finish’ to complete the pairing process.
Touch Control lets you browse by swiping the touch pad. You can rewind, pause and fast forward by sliding left or right.
How to set up touch control:
- Press ‘Home’ on your Sky remote.
- Select ‘Settings’, then select ‘Remote Control’.
- Enable ‘Touch Control’.
Is the touch control too sensitive for you and want to turn the touch control off? Please follow the same steps mentioned above and disable the ‘Touch Control’ to use button instead.
Did you know that you can use your Sky Q remote to switch your Sky Q box and your TV on or off at the same time? Yes, you can. For this, you will need a TV with Consumer Electronics Control (CEC). Almost all the manufacturers name CEC something different so you will need to check the make of your TV to know if you have CEC.
How to set up HDMI control:
- Press ‘Home’ on your Sky remote.
- Select ‘Settings’, now select ‘Setup’
- Select ‘Audio Visuals’ and turn on the HDMI control.
Now to check if it worked, hold the standby button for 3 seconds, your TV should go to standby. If your TV does not go to standby then this means that your TV is not CEC compatible.
