Help urgently please -ART card not working

i purchased ART sport card and Aljazeerah sport card through your website and when i tried them today it didnt work. i waited for more than 10 mins for each card to be activated but it didn't. i have HUMAX VACI-5300 with VIACCESS cam. i was hoping to watch the champions league matches tonight so hopefully someone can advice asap.

Step 1:
Reboot box (unplug the Humax off power for 10 minutes then plug an witch on)
Step 2:
Retune the box (retune the frequencies manually):

For ART: 12015 H
For Al Jazeera: 11178H

Step 3:
Try the cards directly into the receiver (the Humax 5300 has a Viaccess slot onboard)

If you still have the problem, the try the cards on a different box (friend's system) or replace the CAM

I received the cards around 28/1/08 but I wasn’t able to try them as I didn’t have a receiver with VIACCESS cam as its unavailable in Italy.

I managed to get a HUMAX VACI-5300 receiver yesterday but when I tried the cards it didn’t work.

I could think of two reasons why it didn’t work and maybe you could help me as im not very expert with receivers.

1- The cards are not activated, or maybe it was activated but because I didn’t use it for some time (around 20 days) something happened.

2- Something wrong with the software of my receiver.


I have few info on the receiver software that might be helpful:

HUMAX VACI-5300

STB Status:

H/W Version: OAK I & II 2.0

S/W Version: HVC 1.05.02

Device Driver Version: HVC 1.05.02

S/W last update: 27/2/2002

Loader Version: H 2.08

System ID: 0017.0600

CI Slot 1: CI Module is not installed

CI Slot 2: CI Module is not installed



Please note that slot 1 is a built-in cam while slot 2 is empty.



As you may notice that the receiver hasn’t been updated for quite time, if I need to update it, can you please advice how I can do that?

please let me know if you need to know the cards numbers.

The problem you have is the built-in slot (out of date)

The last firmware update you had is 6 years ago, when VIACCESS was in version 1.
All Viaccess cards in the market today, are above that version;
ART Sport: Viaccess 2.6
Al Jazeera Sport: Viaccess 3

Solutions:

Hardway, but cheap solution:
Update the Humax firmware, (very tricky for beginner, not 100% guarantee)- downside; 1 mistake and you damage the box beyond repair.

The best solution, easy but cost money:
Order the VIACCESS 2 MPEG-4 CAM (cost about: £59)
