Hello all,
I have a LE37A557P2F Samsung LCD and this is a MPEG2 device.
In my country (Portugal) we start this week the TDT Channels. They are freeview, but in MPEG4/H262 format.
Does anyone know if we have a cam to put in the CI (common Interface) of this LCD in order to receive the TDT signal and decode it ?

Best Regards,

Luis

MPEG2 OR 4 are compressions types, to get the correct CAM for your TV you need to find out the Encryption type(e.g; SECA MEDIAGUARD, VIACCESS, CONAX, IRDETO...) TDT uses for encrypting the service.

Then when you know the encryption type you can buy the correct CAM (to insert inside the COMMON INTERFACE Slot) for use with the TDT card for extra paid channels.

Thanks for the reply.
We have no encryption in our channels. They are free view.
I only need to convert them to Mpeg2, but I don´t know the Cam I need to buy.

Thanks, Luis

You dont need a CAM as far as we know CAMS are used to allow use of PAY TV cards to decrypt channels
If the channels you are after are FTA then you dont need a CAM
A cam is not for converting signal but decrypting encrypted channels using a card
