My partner and I have dish pointed at Astra 1 so we can warch French and Grnan FTA channels. For some reason a large number of channels suddenly showed the dreaded 'no signal' message. At first I thought maybe someone had moved the dish - we've had guys on the roof from time to time working on the house next door - but we can still get some channels - around 50 or so. However we can't now get an of our French or German channels. Most of the ones we can get are Dutch or Belgian.

Anyone know what the problem could be? I've treid unplugging the box and rescanning, to no avail. Part of the problem is that I don't know what the correct settings for the Manhattan box are that we use. I'm assuming we'd only have a single LNB and that it should be set to 'universal' but the rest of the settings mean nothing to me. However, I've tried a factory reset and various other settings again to no avail.

Help!

Al Gordon

I suggest you reset the box to default setting (factory reset), then just tune ASTRA 1 as normal without changing any settings -just run auto search and make sure you select ASTRA 1, if you get your channels back great, if you get few channels (up to 100) then you will need to realign the dish
if you get no channels at all also check the dish is well aligned.

I've had the same problem with a Grundig analogue sat receiver thats a few years old. I suddenly lost several channels including Eurosport international. Have had dish alignment checked and new LNB installed, all to no avail - other German channels such as ARD or Vox received no problem. Is it possible for the receiver to malfunction for certain frequencies only? I don't know whether to waste yet more money replacing the analogue receiver or whether I have to bite the bullet and start paying to receive digital signals. Any independant advice gratefully recieved.

I definitly don't have any head for heights at all, and always leave anything needing done on the roof our building to the professionals, can anyone tell me how I can tell internally what position my dish is aligned to? Someone on another forum said they thought the dish must have been moved, so that it's now pointing at 23.5E.

I think you should get a digital box, Analog channels have been disappearing and if you still have some german channels, sooner or later they too are moving to digital

Since you have new LNB, just grab a new box and you will have hundreds of channels for free -no need to realign your dish or change anything else
