I am in the process of setting up a Topfield TF5050ci, with a universal Satellite Dish (80cm) + Universal LNB.

I have aligned the dish to Astra, and get an 80% signal strength (according to the TF5050). However, the receiver does not detect any tv or radio channels.

In the installation menu on the receiver, it shows Signal Level @ 80%, but signal quality @ 0%. Neither the manual nor the Topfield website offer any explanation to what this means and how to resolve it.

I recently purchased a new LNB but it has made no difference!

Any suggestions?

Singal level 80% doesn't mean much, it only indicates a LNB is connected -the Signal quality is the one you should look for.

I say your dish is not aligned to Astra, get a Satellite meter or an engineer -keep in mind; the signal delays about 1 to 2 seconds to reach the TV. So, aligning the dish while looking for signal at the TV end is a lot harder than it seems.
