FRANSAT PVR record and playback on MacBook
I have recently purchased a 'PSI virtuoZ HD PVR' FRANSAT box from ToatalSat with the intention of recording programmes to be watched later on my MacBook. (I can do this for UK FREESAT using a HUMAX box and USB drive so it should be possible with the FRANSAT box).
My USB drive [SAMSUNG HM501jl] does work ok with the FRANSAT box, I can record and playback OK even in HD. The disk has two partitions- partition one is an MSDOS FAT32 file system (using the file manager on the FRANSAT box I can can successfully read .mpg and .jpg files from this partition.) The second partition has been formatted by the FRANSAT box and is used for tv recordings. As far as I can tell the format 'E2FS' is a variant of Ext2fs - ie. a LINUX file system. I have third party drivers installed on my MacBook [PARAGON Ext2/3fs] that should read and write EXt2/3/4 filesystems BUT in this case the MAcBook won't mount the E2FS partition on the USB drive (the HUMAX box doesn't recognises this partition ether).
Q: Does this FRANSAT box use a bespoke filesystem that can't be read by any other systems?
Q. Using the FRANSAT box, is there any way of copying a video recording from the E2FS partition to the MSDOS partition? I can't see the E2FS partition in the file management software provided by the FRANSAT box.
Q. Any other suggestions that would allow me to read this E2FS partition?
Many thanks
