TNT Sat (TVS7600) Astra 19.2E No Subtitles on new Installation
I have just installed a TVS7600 decoder and dish, pointing at Astra 19.2E and have installed ok, I have all the French channels, BUT when I select sub titles I get none. I was hoping to get French programes with French subtitles? Is this possible and how is it done?

I know exactly what you mean, you Choose to enable subtitles in the main setup menu,
But that's not enough, you have to also select subtitles while watching the channel.
There is button in the remote that does just that, you press it, then you select French subs and that's how it is activated.

I wish that was my problem. When I use the subtitles button on remote, a msg appears to show the selction choice of language, ie sous-titre FRA, with which is in green text, with a side arrow ->, but the only slection that can be made is to press OK, then the text dissapears from sreen. But no subtitles appear!

In that case, I think the initial setup then had the subs turned off, could you rerun the initial setup after a reset of the box to factory defaults and when you get the first selection screen of languages and subs, select French subs by default as ON, then on any channel also activate them as explained above.
Let us know how it goes, it is very unlikely to be a fault, it is more likely a setup issue
Also always try on few different channels in case the channel or program you are testing doesn't have subs

I rest the configuration to factory default, powered off and started again.
In the installation configuration the languages section, I select Audio: FRA, Sub-tiles: FRA and OSD (menu language): English
After the installation. I select a channel, for example TF1 (I have tried others!), press the green (subtitles) button. A small menu appears, with either 1 or 2 choices, depending on the program selection: impaired-hearing or teletext subtitles. I can move the cursor up/down and select with OK button (no other button work for selection, only cursor up/down, then Ok).
Note: If I press text button, I never get any teletext. No sub-titles appear.
In the channel info, a menu appears on screen, showing bottom right, three sysmbols: TXT, what I assume is a sub-title logo, then Audio. There are values next to these boxes, the sub-title one is showing 1.
What do I do now?

Can you call the office on 02081339898 directly when you are near the TV, we wil have to check this issue wit you over the phone, I still believe this is a setup issue and not a fault.
Never we have experienced this fault before, subs should work with no exception

I have recently taken delivery of a TNTSAT package and have exactly the same problem as described in this thread, no subtitles. I have tried retuning to no avail. were you able to resolve the problem for the previous customer? If so can you please advise me how?

The problem was not resolved. Cant say I am happy! The tech team got a tntsat box same as mine in their workshop, tried to set it up but failed. The answer I recieved was that the TNTSAT box requires an upgrade! for which I have to wait until the service provider decides to download one...
I am not very happy as the primary reason I choose this package, is that it is capable of recieving sub-titles, which is very important to my language learning..
so weeks later, still awaiting this "download"..
I spoke with a relative in France who has the same box and sat dish, etc, and they get sub-titles, so why cant I?
Lets wait and see..
a' toute l'heurre....

First, just to clarify: the sub-titles issue is a technical problem with a large batch TNTSAT boxes and will eventually be fixed with a firmware update.
If you don't like waiting for an update, TotalSat is now offering an alternative solution for this issue...
We can fix this sub-titles issue in-store for TotalSat customers (ONLY). If you have a TNTSAT system OR a TNTSAT pack from TotalSat and you are not getting sub-titles, (and do not like waiting for a firmware update)
Please contact the office quoting your order number and this thread as a reference.
For your information, you will have to send your box back to TotalSat including the card, remote, manual and any packaging you have.
And we will fix the subtitles issue for you at no cost and send you box back by courier service - also at no cost. (turn around 2 to 4 days)
You must contact us first to notify us and we verify your system.
