Default BIS card problem on Ferguson fk 8500 hd sat receiver

i recently obtained a pcmcia viaccess dvb-mpeg2 cam, dvb no.2297----- manufacturer scm microsystems singapore. i use the bis card i bought from you in a technomate tm 5200 with a multicam fitted (5600) this has worked ok. i recently bought a ferguson fk 8500 hd sat receiver from germany, but when i fitted the cam it didn't recognise my bis card,says 'the wrong card is inserted' the previous owner of the cam says he used it to view art arab, any advice for me thanks

For BIS cards you need a Viaccess 3 Cam or a box with the latest available MultiCrypt patch, BIS TV and ART cards both use Viaccess but ART Sport cards used Viaccess 1 and 2 before while BIS cards use Viaccess 3 and that is why a box that have previously worked on ART cards wouldn't necessarily work on BIS.

Default loss of bis channels

thanks for your prompt response much appreciated .i have 2 viaccess cards for different channels and wonder if interchanging these cards can cause damage to the card, because in my technomate 5200 with multicam fitted(5600) i have lost the bis channels on freq 11,861 but channels on 12,692 are showing ok, is the card faulty or the multicam or do i need a multicam patch--- if so, how do i obtain it ? thanks for your help john

Try this; Reset the box to factory defaults (wipe the box completely) then manually tune the frequency 11.861 H, if it works, retune all the channels -if not;
You may need a patch, you can get that from Technomate London, I don't think this problem is with the card.

thanks a lot, you were correct!, i was nervous about changing the transponder settings but once i'd explored them i found there were about 100 transponders and the freq' 11,681/27,500 was TP number 95 and did a scan.this reduced my hotbird channels from around 1200 to 430 but all the french bis channels were grouped together now instead of scattered.my receiver had been factory set at transponder 1 and it worked for 3 months and then channels started disappearing.my card works ok now on technomate.the same applies to my ferguson hd receiver, i'm awaiting delivery of a viaccess v3 card to see if it works ok.i notice on techno mate most channels are full screen 16:9 but on ferguson only about 4 channels are full screen the rest are in a smaller box format any ideas why this is? regards john

Could be AV settings in within the boxes menus
