Tuning in other Astra channels on my Sagem TNT HD box

Good morning,

I have tuned my box to receive the other Astra channels some time ago but have noticed that quite a few channels including many of the encrypted Canalsat channels do not appear on the list once the search is complete. I have repeated the search several times now and the channels still do not appear. My satellite signal is excellent so is there anything else I can do to receive these extra channels?

That is true Tim, the TNTSAT operating system on board only allows TNTSAT channels and the Free to air channels on Astra as optional -it does not tune the encrypted channels on Astra that are not TNTSAT not even Canal (it blocks them from showin).

Similar to CANAL, SKY and all other official boxes, they would tune only the channels that are possible to watch or add like CANAL+/CANALSAT only allow its channels and block all the other encrypted channels that belong to different networks.

I think when CANAL channels are available on TNTSAT, there will be a software patch to enable the channels that are possible to get only

To get all the channels of all networks encrypted and free, you have to use a standars satellite box that does not belong to any provider. And in that case you won't be able to use a TNTSAT card inside it (but canal cards work on standard boxes, if used with an AstronCrypt2 cam)

Thank you for your quick response as always. Am I correct in understanding that you would be able to sell me a receiver like the Humax VA ACE along with an official Canal card that would NOT require a cam?

For CANAL card to be used on any box other than the official box, you always need the AstonCrypt3 cam -it is the official reader to allow canal card to work on other boxes.

Thanks for that, I was under the impression that some of your receivers came with Viaccess 3 embedded offering full support for Canal VA3 cards with auto updates etc.

Yes they do, but CANAL VA cards are hard to obtain, and if you obtain a card you can use it on any Humax box with Viaccess embedded and it will work fine, no CAM required.

We do not supply Viaccess CANAL cards, you can only obtain them directly from CANAL and they send them to a french address directly

This is probably confusing to most people, we too find it confusing
Canal offer 2 different types of cards CANAL SECA/NAGRA 3 they onmly work on Canal boxes and Seca3 AstonCrypt3 cams (the ones we supply)
And CANAL VA cards only work on Viaccess 3 boxes and Cams (only supplied by CANAL directly to customers) no agents involved in this.

If you have relatives in France, they can order the CANAL VA card for you, it cost much cheaper -since you dont have to pay deposit for the box and you dont have to pay box rental fee 12m in advance, no agents fee and no double VAT
