CANAL+ NAGRA Card: not compatible with Technomate box. Do I need a CAM?

Sorry if you've covered this in previous threads.....
I have an official card and which I used to use with a cam and more recently on its own in a Technomate receiver but as some of your correspondents have already remarked the pictures were lost earleir this year. I can't get the card to work so I reverted to the "modulator" originally supplied with a view to reactivating the card. All I've achieved is a black and white screen and circa 500 FTA channels but no Canal transmissions, on either their box or my own. Am I just lacking a piece of kit ?

Is it a VIACCESS, NAGRA OR ASTON card? can you describe the card -and supply the first 5 digits of the card number

It's an official Canal Plus card (0.76.102) Nagravision which did work with the ASTON cam on my old Echostar but more recently without one on the Technomate. Does that help at all ?

That card is 076 is SECA 2 -works on AstonCrypt, no longer valid now, it has been replaced by NAGRA 3 cards,
You should buy a new card or obtain a replacement from CANAL -all 076 card have stopped working forever

I read the card number from my previous documentation and not off the card. It is in fact 0 18.543 which I believe is current according to Canal Plus in September. Am I still stuffed ?

Ok that is a number for a Nagra/Seca 3 card, works with official ASTONCRYPT 2 CAMS only or original canal box

If card not working in ASTON 2 - call canal to reactivate

For you own information as much as anything.............impossible to call them (as ever). Emails just bounce back (as ever). There is however a section on their website (where, incidentally you also can't email them) whereby one can request a reactivation (within Espace Client).
I've done that and they have acknowledged the request with an email at least and some instructions.
Currently awaiting outcome (sans cam) to see what happens.

That card will ONLY work on SECA 2 CAM - it will never work on any other reader, we ve tried that already
