Where has Canal+ gone.

I have been waiting for Canal+ to return all summer. Should I give up and switch to TNTSAT?

Last year I bought a 80 cm dish on Astra 19E, a FC3000CI receiver, Reality CAM and a Canal Passion card to watch French TV. It all worked fine for about 10 months until Canal+ started changing their system. Since the end of June all I have had is LCP, Arte and a few other free channels. The remaining French channels tell me they are encrypted - even the public ones. The card has since expired.

Since then I have been waiting to buy a new card and maybe a new CAM but where do I get it from. Every website I look at (including yours) studiously avoids mentioning Canal+. Now I see you are offering TNTSAT for £198.00. I don't need a new receiver, just a card.

TotalSat will resume supply of CANAL cards sometime by end of september (intially, only for French people or UK residents with French address)

We recommend you only give up on CANAL if you dont enjoy:

- the price tag which will be very expensive compared to TNTSAT now they merged TPS (the only major competitor in the French PAY-TV market)
- world's worst customer service and aftersales care from CANAL GROUP
- annannounced, absolutly unncessary costly upgrades every year
- service interruption on overage every 8 weeks, you will have to reactivate the card (by calling CANAL)
- you cannot contact CANAL from the UK, the number is only accessible from France

TNTSAT only works with the supplied box -TNTSAT will not work in any CAM or box

I live in North London in a block of flats, where we are not allowed to install satelite dishes.
However, the building has 2 main Satelite dishes installed for all tenants. One is pointing to Hotbird & the other to receive Sky.

I am French Speaking and would love to have Canal+ ASAP. I have a Tenomate receiver which allows me to receive French FTA channels like W9, Direct 8, BFM TV but I can't get TF1, France Television & only get Canal+ at certain times of the day.

Can you help please?

You have to have your own ASTRA dish, CANAL only works on Astra 1 -At the moment TotalSat will not supply any CANAL cards , until further notice
