DG Green:
I have just read about the changes that have taken place wit Canal+ and do not know what action to take. Do I need a new CAM and card? Simply a new card? I want to watch as many French channels as possible, but certainly France 2, 3, 4 & 5. I can live without Canal+ if I have to but I really enjoyed my Librement package last year.
You need your new CANAL replacement card, contact the shop you bought it from, they will receive your replacement card there or at your home address in France.
If your CANAL sub is still valid but you can't get your replacement card (like many people), i suggest you move to TNTSAT you get about 20 French channels and it is compatible with your existing dish -it is also freeview so no renewal stress and no CANAL mind games trying to force you to pay more or change equipment every year.
But if you can get your replacement card -use it until expiry then move to TNTSAT.
Remember: if you didn't receive your replacement card yet, it doesn't mean you are not receiving it (huge delay with CANAL processing millions and millions of replacement cards)
DG Green:
Please can you tell me what options are available. Will the £198 TNTSAT package work? I do not need a new box but maybe a new CAM. If I want to pay £585 for CANAL+, what new kit do I need.
For TNTSAT, you dont need any extra equipment, it comes as box and card and works immediatly, no engineer required in your case, if you buy a new CANAL card, you will probably have to change the CAM to
Viaccess 3 MPEG-4
