According to Lyngsat, NASN is on Astra 1H, 12663H, 22000, 5/6. I have the Canal Sat Passions Package but I am getting "No Signal" when I try to add it to my channels. Any help would be appreciated.

That is the same frequency we have here and is working, try factory reset the box (you will lose all data) then manually tune in NASN frequency, then autosearch the rest.

Re-NASN in Europe. I have discovered that the above frequency is a German version on a different platform from CanalSat. I have, as yet, failed to discover the frequency of NASN and NBAtv on CanalSat. Can you help please?

I have it here working on CANAL SAT card NASN at 12663 H, the tp is ORF german but the NASN works on the CANAL card because when i remove the card the channel freezes then goes black. And is listed as Mediaguard2 (the CANAL Encryption system) while ORF uses Beta, Cryptoworks and Nagra - they never use Mediaguard.
imo it is only on that TP so it opens on both providers, those who have CANAL cards will get it on MG and the ORF customers will get it on Cryptoworks

I'm 100% sure that the above frequency is the right one, i think your problems is with the Receiver or LNB, this happens in some cases when the LNB is quite old it starts bleeding the freqs -techincally this means you can try the same frequencies with + or minus 2
like:
12663 H
12664
12665
or
12661
12659...

If still not working, change the LNB - if still not working, try it on a different receiver

After the BBC on Sky/Astra went out of reach for "normal" size dishes in Cyprus (1.8m) I switched to a subscription from TPS. This has been ideal as it comes from Hotbird which is very easy to receive in Cyprus. It allows me to watch BBC Prime and the TPS English-language movie channels for a lot less than I was paying for Sky, so overall I am very happy with it.

However, if the new merged TPS/CanalSat moves to Astra I presume I am going to have the same problem I had with Sky and the BBC on Astra, that is loss of channels and patchy reception for many that remain.

As my subscription is due for renewal in October I wonder whether I should bother resubscribing. Any views?

You will not be able to renew your sub with TPS anyway,
I personally dont know much about the Astra 19 footprint in Cyp, but here it has a much stronger beam than hotbird.

goodluck

A partir de septembre 2007, vous serez personnellement informé(e) par courrier des modalités de transition vers le nouveau CANALSAT.

Is there any more news for those of us with old TPS cards, and Humax Viaccess boxes receiving their signals from the Hotbird satellite? My system is still working fine, but my card will shortly expire.

When I buy a new CanalSat card to continue my viewing, will I need to change the dish direction towards Astra, and, more importantly, will I still be able to use the same box?

You can no longer renew or buy TPS cards - you will have to change to a CANAL subscription in due time, Thus you may also need to change box and need an engineer to realign the dish.

Alternative CANAL cards:
http://www.totalsat.co.uk/french-tv-cards-canal-ca rds-c-22_36.html

If your receiver has no CI (CAM) slots like: HUMAX VA-ACE You will need:

CANAL compatible receiver - NO CAM REQUIRED:
http://www.totalsat.co.uk/xsat-canal-p-83.html
http://www.totalsat.co.uk/electron-cr1900-p-56.htm l

OR

Common Interface Receivers - REQUIRES ASTONCRYPT CAM (latest):

http://www.totalsat.co.uk/topfield-tf5050ci-p-75.h tml
http://www.totalsat.co.uk/topfield-tf5400pvr-p-93. html

ASTONCRYPT CAM (latest seca2 CAM):
http://www.totalsat.co.uk/aston-crypt-cam-p-69.htm l

If you have any receiver with a spare Common Interface (CAM) Slot you also need the latest seca 2
AstonCrypt CAM

How will you know if you have a CI slot?
It will looks as a slot in the box that is 4 to 8 millimetres in height, and the box model will usually include a CI in the name (example: HUMAX VA-CI, TOPFIELD 5050CI...) from the model name we know it has a CI slot so in most cases you will just need the latest
AstonCrypt CAM

My current Humax receiver that I have been using for my old TPS subscription is connected to several TV sets by way of a coax cable plugged into the RF out socket of the receiver which then goes into a splitter and distributes the siganal to the other televisions.

I would wish to continue to do this if I change to a new box to receive CanalSat, however looking at the specifications for the receivers listed above and the images that are available for some of them, it appears that not all of them have an RF in and RF out socket.

Please can you indicate for each of these receivers (and also for the STRONG SRT6420 TNT SAT Receiver for TNT Sat Freeview) whether they have RF in and RF out sockets?

For those that do not, would there be any other way of achieving a signal distribution to multiple TV sets?
